Chiefs, Reds, Waratahs, Brumbies climb up Super 12 ratings
The Chiefs, Reds, Waratahs and Brumbies were the positive movers on ranking and home advantages in the latest Super 12
rugby ratings.
Despite their impressive home win over the Brumbies, the Crusaders still need to shake their home disadvantage which
has dogged them all season.
The Stormers dropped 9.9 points in their rating to edge the Cats out of bottom spot, but pick up more than this to
reach a respectable home advantage, something they have not been able to achieve for some time.
``The Cats did the opposite, relinquishing even more of their previously good home advantage but gaining 7.6 on their
rating,’’ Massey University ratings analyst Professor Hugh Morton said today.
The weekly Super 12 results are analysed for the ratings by Massey University using a computerised adjustive rating
system, similar to the PriceWaterhouseCooper rankings for cricket.
Over the whole competition a lowly rating can be offset by a high home advantage.
In the last four Super 12 seasons the three highest average ratings have been Brumbies 28.6, Blues 26.7 and Crusaders
25.2, while the three lowest averages have been Cats 7.4, Bulls 8.6 and Sharks 13.4. Latest Super 12 ratings:
