Singing and Dancing in the Rain
Rain has not dampened the spirits of over 200 team members and crew from Impact World Tour, as they prepare for their stunning free shows in Wellington this week.
Breakdancers, skaters, bikers, strongmen and cultural acts will appear at large evening performances in Wellington, Porirua and Foxton, as well as heading into prisons and schools in the region. There will also be an opportunity to watch skaters and dancers perform in street shows at Civic Square, Sinclair Skate Park and Cuba St Manners Mall, Wellington.
GX International captivates audiences with a fast and energetic show, featuring top talent in breakdancing and hip hop dancing, as well as skateboarding and BMX.
Team Xtreme International strongmen will delight audiences with their larger-than-life personalities and amazing muscle power.
Island Breeze will perform amazing cultural acts with beautiful dances and costumes from New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Performers will also share personal stories and promote a positive life message with warnings against alcohol, drugs and gang-life.
Performance dates and times: GX International Wednesday 18th Feb - Wellington College 12.35-13.20, Porirua College 12.00 – 14.00 Thursday 19th Feb – Wellington High 11.30-14.15, Pomare Primary School 11.30-12.30, Sinclair Skate Park 1700-1745 Friday 20th Feb – Tawa College 12.30-13.10, Civic Square Wellington 12.30-13.15 Saturday 21st Feb – Cuba St Manners Mall 12.30-13.15 Main evening performance in Wellington (venue may change).
TX International Tuesday 17th Feb – Main evening performance in Porirua (venue may change). Wednesday 18th Feb – St Patricks College 14.20-15.20 Thursday 19th Feb – Main evening performance in Wellington (venue may change) Saturday 21st Feb – Rimutaka Prison 13.00-16.00
Island Breeze Wednesday 18th Feb – Main evening performance in Porirua (venue may change) Friday 20th Feb – Main evening performance in Wellington (venue may change) Saturday 21st Feb – Rimutaka Prison 13.00-16.00
Venues for the main evening performances in Porirua (Feb 17-18) and Wellington (Feb 19-21) may change due to the adverse weather conditions preventing an outdoor event. Please contact Grace Farag (021 617 791) to confirm locations.
