Finally! An Official Celebration Of Wellington’s Brilliant Music
WELLINGTON MUSIC WEEK 19 – 26 OCTOBER 2003
MIDI (Music Industry Development Initiative), with the support of the Mayor of Wellington Kerry Prendergast, is proud to announce the first annual Wellington Music Week to celebrate and promote all aspects of our creative capital’s flourishing musical industry.
Wellington’s MIDI, an industry-led, community inspired initiative is promoting Wellington Music Week to highlight local music success. The Capital is home to many outstanding musicians from a great range of musical styles. Wellington Music Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our fine musicians’ efforts and achievements, to encourage local music growth and to strengthen the community that supports it.
Wellington Music Week encourages people to appreciate excellent musical talent in our own back yard. The Week includes: The Windys Music Awards – celebrating local achievements and showcasing local talent – the perfect launch for a celebration of Wellington music. A Music Trade Show – where musicians and music-related businesses and organisations come together to promote and profile the various aspects of local music industry. Free Seminars and Workshops – including presentations by experienced industry leaders to share knowledge and experience. Official Wellington Music Week Programme – providing details of all events and activities during the week.
You can subscribe to receive further information about MIDI and Wellington Music Week at www.midi.org.nz. If you would like to be involved in any way with Wellington Music Week please contact midi@midi.org.nz.
