Highlanders herding the Bulls. Go the Black Caps tomorrow.

Weather Situation
We have a big High slowly moving to the east and we are still getting an east swell off the top of it. There are two
little Lows to the northeast and cyclone Erica way to the northwest. A High is just leaving from under Tasmania. We have
a Low way down in the deep Southern Ocean heading further to the southeast. There is another Low just moving in under
the South Island.
Regional Report
North Island
Northland; Auckland; Coromandel; Waikato; B.O.P:
West Coast: We have a southwest swell 3-5 feet with a light easterly offshore. The forecast is for northeast tomorrow
so the West Coast is looking like a good option for the weekend. It is hard to see the wind getting out of the easterly
quarter before the end of the weekend with northeast forecast right through to Monday. Possibly a southeast Sunday
morning and then back to the northeast. Should light thoug. HT 1405.
East Coast: We have a new small northeast swell that will slowly build over the weekend. Now that is the good news. We
are looking at northeast winds all weekend. Southeast for a little burst on Sunday morning. HT 1130.
Gisborne; Wairarapa:
We still have a small east swell of 1-2 feet and northerly winds. It is looking like east winds tomorrow and northeast
by Sunday. The east swell will slowly ease and a south swell will develop early next week. We could get a little burst
of westerly on Sunday morning and then it is back to the easterly quarter. HT 1000.
Taranaki:
Waves this weekend gang nothing too big but waves still the same. We have 1-2 feet of southwest swell with southeast
winds in Town. The forecast for the weekend is northeast so down the coast is looking like the best option. It will be
quite small in Town. Expect 2-3 feet by Sunday down the coast. HT 1345.
Wellington:
West Coast; Southeast this arvo and no swell guys. Northeasterlies tomorrow and not much hope at all. HT 2040.
South Coast; There is a southeast swell of 0-0.5 feet this arvo with southeasterly wind of 12-15 knots. A southeast wind
of 10-12 knots at Cape Palliser. A small southeast just starting to show of 0-1 foot. Slowly rising south swell. East to
southeast winds tending southwest by Sunday. HT 0910.
South Island
West Coast:
Waves this weekend with a southwest swell of 2-4 feet and northeast winds. East to northeast winds this weekend so a
good place to be. HT 1500.
Kaikoura; Canterbury:
A southerly wind this arvo with a small east swell hanging there of 1.5-2.5 feet. Easterlies tending northeast tomorrow
and the east swell just there and by Sunday a southwest change and we will start to see a small south swell develop on
the other side. Kaikoura Small east swell waves of 1-2 feet tomorrow. Easterlies tomorrow and then southwest by Sunday.
HT 0840.
Dunedin; Southland:
We will have waves this afternoon when the tide comes in and the northeast drops away. South swell 2 foot and should
rising tomorrow and then start easing on Sunday. A southerly wind developing tomorrow arvo. HT 1910.
Shot's of the Week...
Last week while most of us were stooging around waiting for an offshore on the East Coast, the West Coast was firing.
The Red Surf crew lobbed around to Surfco headquarters on the off chance we might know of a good bank out West. Well we
did, so check the pics of Daniel Kereopa and Local underground ripper Paul Greenland. The tide dropped away and this
bank sucked like a nuclear powered vacuum cleaner. On some of the waves there was so much sand in them that if you threw
a handful of cement in it you would have salty concrete...This will be on the Surfco Homepage soon!
