Citizens! Prepare for fleeing with trauma - the approach of the Puppet Ninja is imminent!
You shall be taught to be afeared by stealthy, lubricated warriors of the night!
You shall find dirty, dirty puppet antics to be entertainingly vulgar or a least very confusing.
For the Puppet Ninja have the joy plus good fortune to bring to you:
Uncle Stinky's Missing Shoes!
An apocalyptic journey into the heart of darkness. . .
Join smelly ole Uncle Stinky in his spiralling downwards into sadness plus madness followed by upward spiral into gladness plus radness.
Witness Nephew Rupreck taste delicious potion of disrepute, the evil DIRTY SANCHEZ and know that this is a puppet brain on drugs.
Tremble with fear as the drunken Kommandant assaults your senses then your spouse.
Do you dare enter the den of the Puppet Ninja?!?
Hmm?!?
Puppet Ninja Present: Uncle Stinky's Missing Shoes is rapidly becoming one of the hottest anticipated shows of the Fringe. Uncle Stinky is the only puppetry show of the 2002 Fringe Festival and guarantees a theatrical night to remember.
This is a totally new, totally original theatrical experience written by one of Wellington's most exciting new experimental playwrights, Joe Collier. The play is scripted, but also contains heavy elements of experimentation and improvisation. It combines live puppetry of various styles, live human performances, multimedia elements and a radio controlled bunny.
The Puppet Ninja are a new theatre and puppetry troupe formed by Boogers Are Fer Eatin' Productions, which began in 1997.
For five nights only a very special one-off venue, Stone Age, will be transformed into the disreputable home of Uncle Stinky, where the audience will sit amongst the porn and the empty pill bottles.
With the kind help of Creative New Zealand and the Fringe Kakano Funding scheme Boogers Are Fer Eatin' have been able to bring this production to pass.
