Cuba Carnival - HELP Required
CBC's Cuba Carnival crew have put together plans for the event which is just two weeks away BUT.... we need lots of volunteers.
This will be a crucial weekend for the bypass. There will be stacks of people around and the Carnival is the antithesis of all that the road will mean for Upper Cuba. AND a number of evictions are to occur in the following week. If you have some time... to take care of a stall, create some heritage plaques, make up a Technicolor bulldozer or anything else listed below (or not), this is the time. Otherwise next year's Carnival will be taking place in a building site.
HERITAGE TOURS We need volunteers who know the heritage of Te Aro to lead tours during the Carnival weekend. Contact Karen (Ph: 973 5355) if you can help. Can someone design/layout a heritage map for a flyer and create Heritage Plaques for each of the buildings. Contact Alan (Ph: 384 2201, email: alan@whiting.net.nz)
CBC STALL We need lots of volunteers for the stall during the weekend. If you have a some time, contact Alan (Ph: 384 2201, email: alan@whiting.net.nz)
TONKS GARDENING Tonks Gardens needs a haircut, to be organised closer to the date. Contact Kerryn (Ph: 801 6944, email: pollock@crownlaw.govt.nz)
NIGHT PARADE Next weekend (16-17 Feb) we need people to construct and paint a "cartoon bulldozer". On Saturday night (23 Feb) during the parade, we need lots of volunteers in costume to go on foot/bike/skate/scoot etc/ in front of the Bulldozer. Contact Alan (Ph: 384 2201, email: alan@whiting.net.nz)
SMASH-A-CAR For a gold coin to CBC, people can swing a sledgehammer at an old dunger. We have a volunteer car or two but does anyone have a spare sledgehammer? Contact Elise (Ph: 802-4314, email: leeziebee@hotmail.com)
BANNERS. If anybody knows someone with a Cuba St. address that can host a banner for the weekend, please contact Alan (Ph: 384 2201, email: alan@whiting.net.nz)
cheers,
The CBC Cuba Carnival Crew.
