Published: Thu 7 Feb 2002 09:43 AM
The president of United Future New Zealand, Inky Tulloch, has already passed the winning post this year.
Heading into the final round of the New Zealand Supertruck Championship on Sunday at Manfield Raceway with a 64 points ahead of his nearest rival, Inky stretched his lead over the three race event to take out the title for the third time and set his seventh successive lap record in doing so.
Inky Tulloch, Managing Director of Tulloch Transportation is also the holder of the Australian Supertruck Championship, a title he has also held for the last two years.
The Leader of United Future, Hon Peter Dunne, congratulated Inky and said that this win is a great portend of things to come.
" Inky has come from Mataura, a small community in the heart of Southland and has taken on and beaten the best that New Zealand and Australia have to offer. Our lesson is that skill and ability will shine through - no matter how big the task may seem from where you come from.
"Our congratulations go to Inky, and his team, and we look forward to repeating his success, with him at the Party's wheel, come November."
