LAUNCHING
Indigo Comedy Wednesdays
8pm Wednesday August 1st 2001
Enjoyed the laugh festival, want more? Very Serious Productions and Indigo
Bar and venue present Indigo “Comedy Wednesdays”. The cream of Wellington’s stand-up comedians are back. See the old hands at the stand-up game alongside the stylings of a new crop of local young talent.
If you enjoyed Pulp Comedy or the TV2 international LAUGH! Festival, then your Wednesdays are going to be filled up from now on. Featuring such stars as Sully O’Sullivan, Nigel Corbett, Flight of the Conchords, Michael Shadbolt,
and Fiona Mackinnon, these shows are full of belly laughing, side splitting (and other various “laughing" clichés) fun!
Organiser Ben Hurley says “Auckland has had regular stand-up nights for several years, and now boasts New Zealand’s only dedicated comedy venue, it’s time Wellington fought back. People in Wellington are starved of good regular stand-up, so we’re going to feed them”.
Indigo Comedy Wednesdays start on August the 1st and continue on the first
and third Wednesday of every month. So take off your politically correct
hats, you’re long earrings and Gucci suits and come to Indigo to laugh the
winter blues away.
