City Gallery Wellington launches Friends online
Going on line this Saturday will be a novel Friends website developed by Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington: www.citygalleryfriends.co.nz , launching a new initiative – Friends of City Gallery Wellington.
“The Friends is a great way for people to be involved in the ongoing life of the gallery and to share in its success,” said director Paula Savage. “It will provide them with the opportunity to meet others who share their passion for the visual arts, and to attend special Friends’ evenings every three months, with guided exhibition tours and wine.”
Savage describes the Friends website and the accompanying collectible postcards that will soon be appearing around town as “off-the-wall”: “We’re sure people will love them. Without giving too much away about the website, there are plenty of things to keep even the most jaded art lover amused.”
The official launch of the Friends, on Friday 12 May, coincides with the opening of the Winter Season of free exhibitions by prominent New Zealand artists Richard Killeen, Bill Hammond, Michael Parekowhai.
Those interested in joining the Friends of the City Gallery can send an email to art.gallery@wcc.govt.nz, contact the Friends Co-ordinator on T: 04 801 3961 or fill in the application form on the website: www.citygalleryfriends.co.nz
Friends of the City Gallery Wellington is kindly supported by
Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington, Montana Wines Limited,
and the Wellington Museums Trust which manages City Gallery Wellington, with major funding from the Wellington City Council.
