Mitsubishi Introduces New Automotive Credit Card

Published: Mon 23 Aug 1999 09:03 AM
A new credit card, unique in the New Zealand motor industry, is being introduced by Mitsubishi Motors through its national dealer network.
The Diamond Care Credit Card offers up to 100 days interest free on parts and service purchases and can also be used at over 1500 other retail outlets.
"This new card follows on the introduction of our unique vehicle insurance policy which we introduced earlier in the year," MMNZ marketing director Mike Alexander said.
"Mitsubishi Motors established new standards of customer service within the New Zealand automotive industry with our Diamond Care programme. This new initiative and the insurance policy build on that programme.
"The Diamond Care Credit Card is available to individuals only. It is backed by AGC Credit Line and can be used to make purchases at a wide number of other retail outlets including Carters Building Supplies, Harvey Norman Furniture, Freedom Furniture and Retravision.
"When used at Mitsubishi Motors dealers, customers get up to 100 days free credit. Although not officially launched until August 18, the card is proving popular at some of our dealerships where they have already started offering it to customers.
"Over the next four months we will be promoting the card throughout the country. Until 31 December the normal joining fee of $30 is being waived.
"Everyone using the card at Mitsubishi Motors dealers during that time and making a minimum purchase of $100 is also in the draw for a new Pajero iO. Concurrent with that offer, each month from now until December every customer in the parts and service departments of all Mitsubishi Motors dealers is also in the draw to win an overseas holiday for two.
"Through the electronic systems AGC have installed in dealerships, applications can be processed within a matter of minutes. Card holders can have credit limits up to $10,000." To trigger the interest free offer, card holders require an initial debit balance of $100. There are no ongoing annual fees with the card.
