SINGAPORE CALL CENTRE A NEW ZEALAND FIRST
Auckland marketing services company, Atlantis Marketing has announced the development of a Singapore-based Call Centre.
The Call Centre is to focus on the initial development of business and consumer databases for clients in the South East
Asian region and is the first of its kind to be set up in Singapore, by a New Zealand owned company.
As an equal partnership between Atlantis and international direct integrated services company Wunderman Cato Johnson,
the Call Centre will initially focus on call management for a major global oil company undertaking a promotion
throughout the South East Asian region. Other clients are set to follow soon.
"The Singapore Call Centre is a key component of Atlantis' Asia- Pacific expansion and is critical to the development of
business and consumer databases for our clients throughout the Asia Pacific region" says Atlantis Marketing Management
Director Michael Whittaker. "Development of the Call Centre in Singapore keeps us on track to meeting client demand for
Atlantis' Call Centres in New Zealand, Australia, and South East Asia by the end of the year. By January 2000, Atlantis
will be providing a regional call management service that caters for varying time zones, languages and cultural
influences."
Speaking on the development, Wunderman Cato Johnson President - Asia Pacific Wolfgang Haf said "the venture was a
logical step for us to combine our client(s) and local market knowledge with the combined Call Centre and database
expertise of Atlantis.
Privately owned Atlantis Marketing has expanded rapidly into the Asia Pacific region in the past two and a half years,
and now employs over 80 staff throughout the region. Although facing regional demand for its services, the company bases
its core marketing and technical personnel in New Zealand and utilises technology to deliver database-marketing
solutions to regional clients.
"Satellite production units such as the Singaporean Call Centre are vital to the service we offer as they allow us to
deliver consistent regional customer services and yet local accountabilities for our clients operations throughout the
entire region" stated Whittaker. A statement reinforced by Atlantis' recent $2.5million investment in an Informix data
warehouse platform, a platform that will soon be providing regional access to centralised databases. ATLANTIS MARKETING:
