Finalists for the 2018 Design Institute of New Zealand Best Awards have been announced. Three Jasmax projects have been named on the shortlist.
Ara’s new architecture and engineering school, Kahukura, has been shortlisted for two Best Awards – Built Environment, and Public and Institutional Spaces
One of the greenest buildings in the Canterbury rebuild, Kahukura earned a commendation in Learning Environments Australasia's 11th Annual Awards for Excellent in Educational Facilities. It was the only building in New Zealand to be honoured at the awards from a highly competitive shortlist of 58 buildings from New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.
Jasmax’s Interior design work, Transpower’s fitout, Waikoukou (22 Boulcott Street in Wellington), and ATEED’s GridAKL: Innovation 5A and Mason Bros fitouts have both been nominated in the Offices and Workplace Environments categories. Both projects are already award-winners for 2018. Waikoukou achieved the Supreme Award, the highest accolade, in the Property Council NZ Awards, and GridAKL received interior recognition in the New Zealand Institute of Architects Auckland Awards.
The Best Design Awards is an annual showcase of excellence. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held in Auckland in later this year.
