Innovative Telecommunications Provider Gains Governments TaaS Endorsement
Auckland, 15 February – The largest private New Zealand-owned video conferencing network provider for healthcare in Australasia, has just been
awarded panel status in the latest round of the government’s Telecommunications-as-a-Service (TaaS) endorsements. Vivid
Solutions Ltd (VSL) who also service the Department of Corrections is now accredited to expand its service enabling
other government agencies easier access to competitive and enhanced interconnectivity between departments and customers.
Chief Executive Simon Hayden says being listed is recognition of their ability to competitively deliver quality
services, security and infrastructure to the public sector.
“Digital advances and network upgrades in telecommunications are continuously evolving,” says Hayden.
“In the next decade it is going to become crucial for government agencies to manage the integration, increased traffic
and mobility of their workforce, customers and stakeholders. We are dynamic and agile which allows us to respond quickly
to changes in technology and the modern needs of a government agency.”
The TaaS panel allows more than 200 government agencies to access a range of accredited cross- telecommunications and
managed security services. VSL is one of a dozen IT services companies added in the panel’s latest expansion.
Born out of the need for paediatricians at Auckland’s Starship Hospital to conduct face-to-face video conference
consultations with their young patients throughout New Zealand, VSL has been at the forefront of telecommunications in
the health sector for over a decade. Today all 20 District Health Boards across the country use the company’s services,
as do correctional facilities, social support groups and not-for-profit organisations.
“Our flexibility allows us to deliver high-spec state-of-the-art bespoke solutions or standardised connectivity at the
lowest possible cost,” says Hayden. “With approved TaaS status VSL can now offer its solutions directly to all
government departments without having to tender, saving time and money for all parties involved. For a team of
