Work begins on new 570-home subdivision at Orewa
Auckland, 2 December 2016: Groundworks for Sunny Heights, a $420 million, 570-home development at Orewa, have commenced.

Spread over 42 hectares, the large-scale residential development 37km north of central Auckland will offer a mix of
standalone houses, ‘Zero Lot’ Dwellings, terraces and apartments to appeal to a wide range of home buyers. Situated
close to State Highway 1, Sunny Heights is part of a Special Housing Area and will accommodate 56 affordable housing
options. Amenities in the new neighbourhood will include a small retail centre, kindergarten and open parkland.

Auckland’s housing shortage by creating a well-designed, diverse community. Pre-sales have started for stage one and we
are receiving strong interest from the market for the sub-divided sites.”
The picturesque location features two north-south ridges and a river, and one third of the land is covered by forest.
The eastern section overlooks the sea, and the northern section is adjacent to a natural reserve.
The project will be delivered in stages. The entire development is for 253 detached houses, 142 ‘Zero Lot’ Dwellings, 93
terraced homes and 82 apartment complexes. Completion of stage one sub-divisions is expected by August 2018. The rest of
the construction is expected to complete in late 2021.
