Psoda launches Psoda Storm to help organisations unleash their best ideas

Wellington cloud software firm Psoda has created a way for organisations and communities to release the very best ideas from within their ranks - wherever they may reside.
The company has today launched Psoda Storm - a smartphone application which creates an open and social environment where new ideas can be captured, discussed and evaluated.
Being able to gather and rate ideas from anyone in an organisation or community can unleash greater innovation and more creative problem solving, says Psoda CEO Bruce Aylward.
“Some of the best ideas could come from places you least expect them. Psoda Storm makes it possible for people from anywhere in an organisation, team or community to have their ideas heard and evaluated by others,” says Aylward.
“Psoda Storm can help uncover latent ingenuity and innovative thinking that might otherwise remain untapped, releasing ideas which can enable innovation and lead to creative solutions to problems.”
Traditional forms of gathering ideas all have their limitations and often occur in isolation with limited transparency and interactivity, and few opportunities for collaboration, says Aylward.
“Brainstorming sessions, feedback forums, public consultations, surveys and, of course, the humble suggestion box all have their limitations,” he says.
“Often people have little visibility of what happens to their ideas, while opportunities for the open exchange of ideas and for people to inspire each other are limited.”
Psoda Storm is designed to enhance or substitute current methods of gathering feedback and ideas, by enabling collaboration between people from different departments, teams or groups, says Aylward.
“Psoda Storm creates an open forum where everyone can share, comment on and discuss ideas. This both encourages original ideas to emerge, and enables the iteration of ideas, which is how they can evolve into innovative and creative solutions.
“For example, local councils could use Psoda Storm for public consultation on new developments, while project teams could use the app to test new product ideas. Businesses could deploy campaigns to gather thoughts from customers and employees on any number of initiatives. In all these scenarios, users can review and vote for their favourite suggestions, allowing the best ideas to rise to the surface.”
Psoda Storm will be unveiled this week at the New Zealand Project Management Conference in Auckland, hosted by the Project Management Institute of New Zealand (PMINZ).
PMINZ is using the app to collect real-time feedback on sessions and to gather ideas for themes for future events.
Psoda Storm is available for both iOS and Android devices, and is available now in the App Store and on Google Play, and is free for a limited time. To find out more about Psoda Storm visit:http://www.psodastorm.com/
