Paul Trimmer Unveiled
B Creative Artists is excited to announce Paul Trimmer has secured another successful role.
Paul Trimmer is an emerging actor who will be playing the lead role, Hippolytus in Hippolytus Veiled; a Greek tragedy adapted for a modern audience by Playwright Nathan Joe and directed by Patrick Graham.
Cowinner of the 2015 Playmarket Playwrights B4 25 Award – the judges described the play as “ambitious, dynamic, hilarious and frightening all at once.”
“When I read the script, I thought ‘this isn’t going to be a walk in the park’, but it’s something I’ve really got to do because it's a great acting challenge… it’s really stretched me and made me grow” says Paul.
Paul has professionally trained at The Actors’ Program and has been unstoppable in pursuing his acting dream. 2015 saw Paul land the role Kong in the New Zealand Film Commission funded shortfilm, Return (nominated for Show Me Shorts Lightbox Best Film Award).
In the six months since completing The Actors’ Program, Paul has performed in feature films; Mega Time Squad directed by Tim van Dammen, Frozen Moments directed by Craig Newland and the shortfilm Sparrow, directed by Welby Ings.
In addition to these projects, Paul played Ferdinand in The Tempest at Pop Up Globe earlier this year. Paul has landed another theatre role in James Bea umont’s TENNESSEE retro, at the Basement 18 22 October. With all these projects under his belt, Paul is showing no sign of slowing down.
Paul’s passion for acting is unrelenting, and his drive stems from the ability to move an audience. “I thrive on the audience’s response; moving the audience to feel, to laugh, to think, to educate, but mainly to entertain people.”
Catch Paul Trimmer in Hippolytus Veiled at the Basement Theatre, 1620 August. Tickets from https://www.iticket.co.nz/events/2016/aug/hippolytusveiled.
