Merino Kids Expand Their Flock!
Iconic A-list children’s sleepwear brand, Merino Kids, has been scouting locations throughout New Zealand and are excited to announce that they will be expanding their flock into the Auckland-based ecostore in Freemans Bay. Not only will this enable them to continue to showcase and sell their award winning products, but this is a start of a new strategic phase for the company.
Merino Kids, who started out at their Herne Bay location in 2003 has been based there for nearly thirteen years. They are now entering a new and exciting strategic phase, which has seen their Australasia distribution centre move in-house and down to the Wairarapa. The Australasia sales office will remain in Auckland.
Founder Amie Nilsson introduced the sleepwear solutions company out of necessity at the time and said that the brand, originally established in New Zealand, has grown from strength to strength on a global scale with continuing revenue increases year-on-year.
She said “We have been blown away by the increase in following Merino Kids has received since we started it back in 2003. What originally started out as an idea to provide new parents with some peace of mind, has grown into something much more than that. Not only have we managed to win a number of international awards for our innovative designs, but gained recognition for specific products as 'hip healthy' products by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. We’re continuing to work with leading global hospitals like Chelsea and Westminster and sleep specialists around the world and most importantly Merino Kids as a brand has helped thousands of families across the world get a good night's sleep!"
Merino Kids has not only become a home-grown success, but an international one too. You can now find their products throughout thirty-five countries, including the USA, Australia, United Kingdom, China, Japan, Russia, UAE and many other countries throughout Europe.
Since their inception in 2003, Merino Kids has sold approximately 180,000 Go Go Bags™ and produced over 300,000 units of sleepwear helping families around the world to create a safe sleeping environment for their loved ones, enabling them to get a good night’s sleep.
The luxury children’s brand is not only worn by A-list celebrity children, but is admired for its fine quality by royalty! Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Princess Victoria of Sweden are all big fans of the natural products, as well as tennis superstar Roger Federer’s twins, and the A-list children of Angelina Jolie, Rod & Penelope Stewart, Dannie Minogue, Bryan Adams and Robbie Williams.
Merino Kids Australasia Managing Director, Paula Petrie, is thrilled that Merino Kids will feature in ecostore’s Scotland Street flagship and noted “our brand values are extremely complimentary.”
“The ecostore and Merino Kids’ brands pride themselves on the use of natural, healthy and sustainable products, ensuring only the kindest and gentlest of our creations touch our loved one’s delicate skin.”
Ecostore and Merino Kids have a long established partnership, with ecostore selling alongside Merino Kids online for six years. ecostore retail manager Yulia Podrul says the company is excited it can now feature Merino Kids’ full range at its retail store in Freemans Bay.
“We hope we can add a really personal touch to help customers discover more about Merino Kids products when they come in store,” she says.
“Our products complement each other well and provide only the best solutions for baby’s skin, without potentially harmful chemicals.”
To celebrate this new retail relationship, Merino Kids and ecostore will be running an in-store promotion at their new Freemans Bay location at 1 Scotland Street throughout the week 11th – 17th July.
