Akarua Rua voted New Zealand’s favourite Rosé
Wine lovers voted Akarua Rua as their favourite NZ Rosé as part of the Dare to Pink #sipnzrose initiative (sipnzrose.com).
798 wine lovers casted their votes during February, with Akarua Rua Rosé from Central Otago taking out the top spot with 95 votes, followed by Moi Rosé from Auckland with 90 and Esk Valley Rosé from Hawke's Bay receiving 69 votes.
“The top three wines showcase New Zealand's diversity when it come to Rosé. It's great to see that different regions, varietals and styles took a lead in this competition“, says Caro from Sip NZ Wine.
NZ Wine & lifestyle site Sip NZ Wine (sipnzwine.com) teamed up with 25 wineries to make a rumble about NZ Rosé and asked consumers to vote for their favourite pink tipple to be in to win $500. Maria Williamson is the lucky winner of the $500 cash prize.
The following wineries participated in the initiative: Akarua, Allan Scott, Ara, Aronui, Esk Valley, Judge Rock, Left Field, Middle-Earth, Moi Wines, Murdoch James Estate, Peter Yealands, Q Wine, Snapper Rock, Soho, Spade Oak, Spy Valley, Soho, Te Pa, The Sisters, Thornbury, Toi Toi, Two Rivers, Villa Maria, Whitehaven and Wooing Tree.
