Victory for Pembroke Patisserie
Matt and Kirsty Schmutsch are excited to announce they have been selected as one of the 10 winners in the Cuisine Artisan
Awards 2016.
“We are delighted to have won and be published in this magazine as it means that we can introduce so many people to us and our biscuits. We have been overwhelmed by how popular our Gingerbread biscuits have become and it is satisfying to see our hard work being recognised in this way,” says Kirsty.
“Not only is it a huge honour, we have enjoyed reading Cuisine magazine over the years and have always followed the awards closely from a foodie perspective.”
Pembroke Patisserie can add this win to their many highlights during the past year. Other highlights include being stocked in Farro Fresh stores across Auckland as well as Moore Wilson's Wellington, and the thriving local Wanaka Farmers Market.
“It’s also been wonderful that we have been really busy with our stall at the Wanaka Farmers Market. We are very grateful for the continuing support from the Wanaka locals who visit us every Thursday - despite what the elements throw at us some weeks!”
Kirsty says their focus during 2015 was on building new relationships with specialty food stores around New Zealand, and keeping up with baking at home in Wanaka.
In 2016 they are looking forward to continuing baking and introducing some new and exciting recipes for people to try.
The Cuisine Artisan Awards received over 60 entries from talented artisans all over New Zealand. Now in their eighth year, the Cuisine Artisan Awards celebrate the best of New Zealand's thriving boutique producers.
Pembroke Patisserie’s award-winning Gingerbread biscuits are available for purchase online at www.pembrokepatisserie.co.nz,
at their stall at the Wanaka Farmers market, as well as in specialty stores across the country. You can see their full stockists list on their website.
Bon appétit!
