New lowcost brewing system coming to market
A new lowcost professional grade beer brewing system is close to being available to the public with the launch of a
Kickstarter campaign. This is the final step before larger scale manufacture.
The system has been designed and built in New Zealand by Indemic under the brand name Malt Mechanics. Malt Mechanics
developer and cofounder Nick Jones says it is the first time a professionalstandard brewing vessel of food grade plastic
with stainless steel fittings has been available at such an affordable price. The fermenter features a conical base and
stainless steel sanitary fittings usually found in professional grade brewing products.
The fermenters will be available (on kickstarter) for just over $300NZD for the 30 litre option and under $400NZD for
the larger 60 litre system. Other small scale professional systems made entirely of stainless steel are available but at
more than double the price.
“We are confident we have come up with a world class product by investing time to ensure the moulded bodies and fittings
are completely hygienic, high quality and that it works exactly as it should on this scale to produce high quality
beer,” says Nick.
The Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1680314083/conicalfermentersforhomebrewing ) will offer
the opportunity to preorder fermenters at early bird rates or alternatively a fun way to support a clever kiwi project.
The Malt Mechanics fermenters are available exclusively on the Kickstarter page for 31 days from today.
