So you’ve got to hire staff?
Startups face loads of challenges but none more difficult to manage than hiring staff for the first time.
At Weirdly, we know what that’s like. Get the wrong person or the wrong mix of people and suddenly you’re faced with
some awful choices.
We get asked how to hire staff by a lot of start ups and so we’ve put together an introductory guide: Recruiting 101 for
Startups: The ultimate guide for hiring your first 10 people.
“We wanted to help startups get it right because we know what it’s like. We’re a startup ourselves and we know how
important it is to get the cultural fit right but also just to get the basics sorted out,” says Weirdly CEO and
co-founder Dale Clareburt.
The guide, which includes chapters on writing job descriptions and prioritising what roles to fill first, includes a
number of templates to make the tricky business of recruitment as easy as possible.
“We want to make recruitment as fun as possible for all concerned. Typically it’s a stressful business that can be hard
to get right - we want to make it something that’s enjoyable because we strongly believe that will lead to better hiring
decisions and better outcomes for hirer and for the new staff.”
