Silverdale takes out ‘Top Fundraising Office’ for Pink October
Silverdale’s Century 21 Northern Realty has won the ‘Top Fundraising Office’ for Pink October – with the North Auckland real estate agency recently picking up the award.
The mother and son business owners of Century 21 Northern Realty, Donna and Andy a’Beckett, held a hugely successful fundraising auction which saw them raise over $7,000 for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF).
“We are absolutely stoked to be awarded the ‘Top Fundraising Office’. We set up the new Century 21 office in the old part of Silverdale village less than a year ago, so to get so much community support for such a great cause was brilliant. The challenge however will be to defend the nationwide title in 2016,” says Andy a’Beckett, business owner and licensee salesperson for Century 21 Northern Realty.
In total Century 21 New Zealand presented a cheque to the NZBCF for $22,218 late last year. The proceeds were raised by Century 21 and its offices nationwide during NZBCF’s Pink October, with Century 21 New Zealand an official ‘Community Supporter’ for the month.
“As a company, Pink October is our main charity fundraiser for the year. So we were pleased to have helped with community awareness as well as raise $22,218 to support women with breast cancer and for vital research,” says Geoff Barnett, National Manager of Century 21 New Zealand.
“For the Silverdale office to raise nearly a third of the company’s total donation is amazing and highlights the great community relationships Century 21 Northern Realty has in and around the Rodney and North Shore areas,” he says.
Mr Barnett says Century 21 New Zealand is looking forward to supporting the NZBCF again in October 2016.
“As well as fundraising events, many of our franchise owners, agents, and staff’s famous gold jackets were swapped for pink ones for October. Our website changed colour as did our signboards, marketing material and many of our offices were decorated pink. We also used our different social media networks to help raise awareness.
“Rest assured Century 21 remains steadfastly committed to the cause and growing its fundraising activity and donation to NZBCF each year,” says Mr Barnett.
