Phenomenal Employee Growth Makes for Sweet Success
Auckland, New Zealand (Thursday 27 November 2014) – Growing from 12 employees to 160 since opening its doors four years ago, Gameloft New Zealand is showing no signs of slowing down as they launch their second game for 2014, Pastry Paradise.
The French-owned company based in Parnell, Auckland is now the country’s largest video games developer. With world-renowned games such as My Little Pony and Ice Age Adventures under its belt and more than 50 million downloads to match, Gameloft New Zealand is proof that the country has the right tools to create a world-class industry.
“Launching two great games in less than 12 months is a real achievement for us, it wouldn’t have been possible without our brilliant team and the support we get here in Auckland,” says Patrick Wagner, Managing Director of Gameloft New Zealand.
With the launch of Pastry Paradise, the newest Match-3-Puzzle game, Gameloft New Zealand showcases its own newly created IP, developed entirely in New Zealand, featuring a delectable pastry universe, innovative diagonal swiping and an engaging storyline.
The game is the first in its genre to provide players not only with diagonal swiping, allowing matching combo’s for maximum points, but also heart-thumping boss battles where the player can take on the ultimate villain to help return flavour to the land.
“When you look at the team’s skills, the ambitions that we have now and the successful games we’re developing, we just want to make more and we will, with the plan to ship at least two more projects again in 2015,” says Wagner.
Pastry Paradise is available on the App Store, Google Play, Windows Phone and Windows 8.
