Jaguar Land Rover achieves year-on-year growth and invests in cutting-edge education and technology for the future
Jaguar Land Rover, a global leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles and one of the UK’s largest exporters has delivered positive sales performance year-to-date, up 11% versus the same period last year.
Outperforming the global sales growth, Jaguar Land Rover New Zealand are up 70% on this time last year with demand for vehicles exceeding availability and delivery of product.
“It has been an extremely competitive year for premium car sales around the world and in New Zealand” say James Yates, General Manager, Jaguar Land Rover New Zealand. “Our vehicles deliver on every aspect of performance and design and with new product launches in 2015 we are forecasting another incredible year ahead”.
With local and global demand for vehicles exceeding production scheduling factors Jaguar Land Rover are heavily investing in the future, from a cutting-edge education centre to inspire tomorrow’s engineers, an apprenticeship recruitment drive and the opening of a state-of-the-art Engine Manufacturing Centre.
The Engine Manufacturing Centre will be home to the ‘Ingenium’ engine family, which will power a new generation of Jaguar Land Rover products designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK; the first time in a generation the company has manufactured engines in-house.
The first engine is the 2.0 litre diesel in the much-anticipated Jaguar XE arriving in the New Zealand in August 2015.
Jaguar Land Rover is transforming its business and brands through a programme of sustainable, strategic investments. At a grass roots level, as part of the company’s ‘Inspiring Tomorrow’s Engineers programme, Jaguar Land Rover have invested in a new-look education centre to enhance learning and is recognition that the next generation of engineers are fundamental to driving growth in the automotive industry.
Ensuring that Jaguar Land Rover attract the best minds into the company, Jaguar Land Rover also has an award winning apprenticeship programme for which it is looking for up to 200 new recruits to sustain growth projections.
Working in cutting-edge product development and manufacturing environments, recruits will be developing vehicles for two of the most iconic global motoring marques and taking their incredibly strong legacy into the future.
