Why Creatives Still Need Help With Being Creative.
A screenwriter and a psychologist have joined forces to design a new training workshop for people who rely on ideas for
a living. Psychologist Chantal Hosftee and Writer/Ideation Tutor Kathryn Burnett have combined their experience to create the Maximise Your Creative Flow Workshop.
Hosftee and Burnett had both been running popular workshops in their respective fields and discovered that even the most
creative people suffered from blocks, dry spells and procrastination - and the idea was born.
“I was already basing aspects of my training workshops on the principles of creativity and brain science but I wanted to
work with a brain expert to investigate the science aspect of creativity and how sharing this knowledge could liberate
creatives.” Burnett explains.
Hofstee agrees: “There is this idea of a tortured artist, that you’re supposed to suffer to be creative. Through research, we know this
is actually not true. Mindfulness is a wonderful tool for creative people, as it helps you reach the most creative brain
state, in a healthy and sustainable way.”
The Maximise Your Creative Flow Workshop is based on extensive studies of a phenomenon called Flow, the least self aware
and the most creative and productive brain state.

Kathryn Burnett is an award-winning screenwriter, ideation workshop facilitator and playwright.
Chantal Hofstee is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in practical Mindfulness training.
