Sanpellegrino challenges you to turn wine into water this July
The Dry Dinner Party – the new trend on the dinner circuit
This July, the winter dinner party round needn’t stop – even if you are participating in Dry July.
Sanpellegrino challenges New Zealanders to swap out the fine wine for equally fine water and host a ‘Dry Dinner Party’.
Selecting the right mineral water to accompany a dining experience is key, and according to world-- leading mineral water company Sanpellegrino, awareness and education around this is increasing.
“Quality natural mineral water cleanses the palate and prepares it for the following mouthful, and the right water can intensify the enjoyment of the overall dining experience seamlessly complementing the food, and vice versa,” said Manuela Capponi, Senior Brand Manager for Sanpellegrino Asia Pacific.
“Consumers are beginning to understand water and food pairings and consider them when preparing a meal or dining out which is excellent – now we want them to put this awareness into action."
The brand is encouraging consumers to not only support Dry July, an international fundraising initiative challenging consumers to go alcohol--free for the month to support adults living with cancer, but to also enjoy themselves while doing so.
“If you are participating in Dry July, it needn’t mean a month spent on the couch clutching a cup of herbal tea.
The Dry Dinner Party is the new trend on the dinner circuit,” said Manuela Capponi.
“Sanpellegrino offers two unique mineral waters, S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna that have specific organoleptic properties that make them the perfect accompaniment to a dinner party."
Acqua Panna is renowned for its purity in its perfectly balanced, limpid, light--bodied taste and smooth, velvety mouth feel.
Acqua Panna perfectly cleanses the palate and is best matched with light, simple dishes dominated by salty, sour or oily flavours.
It reflects its own unique terroir, the Acqua Panna Spring located in the hills of Tuscany on a 1300 hectare nature reserve that as been untouched and preserved since 1564.
S.Pellegrino displays characteristics of the glamorous region from which it hails, with the source located deep in the Orobie Alps.
The water was renowned for promoting health and wellbeing, and today it tastes just the same with a riot of lively, long--lived bubbles that feel creamy on the palate.
The slightly salty taste is well balanced with acidity, and the rich minerality gives it a lovely thirst--quenching feel.
Best matched with complex dishes that are rich in aromas and flavours.
Neil Philips, UK ambassador for S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, recommends drinking S.Pellegrino with “big, full--flavoured dishes” such as beef or game, or strong cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano.
Acqua Panna’s gentler, non--carbonated qualities suit more elegant flavours such as oysters, creamy pasta, veal and light desserts.
Support Dry July and take Sanpellegrino up on the Dry Dinner Party challenge, not only for a good cause, but also to educate your friends on the importance of quality mineral water and pairing water and food – and enjoying themselves while doing so.
