Presenting Palm Court
Auckland, February 5, 2014 - Stylish and sophisticated à la carte dining with a refined service now has a new home: Palm Court. This elegant new bar is The Langham Auckland’s exquisite centrepiece, serving breakfast, light snacks, drinks and Tiffin Afternoon Tea daily.
The luxurious hotel’s guests and visitors can now start the day with a stylish and sumptuous à la carte breakfast that includes pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and cream cheese or warm croissants with Champagne and strawberry jam.
Should they wish to return for a daytime snack, the salmon poached in duck fat or the beef Carpaccio with rocket, parmesan shavings, truffle oil and balsamic vinegar will undoubtedly tickle their fancy.
Paired with a perfectly aged wine that’s been elegantly decanted and placed on the table alongside the extravagant Christofle silver cutlery and Wedgwood Fine Bone China and Palm Court’s guests will never want to leave.
Luckily then, Tiffin Afternoon Tea has two servings daily. Every day at 11.30am and 2.30pm, the most exquisite little treats arrive on three-tiered silver stands only to be devoured within seconds.
Who could possibly resist quail egg Waldorf salad on a potato and white truffle mousse, carrot flan on polenta with drunken raisins, peanut butter mousse with milk chocolate Chantilly and chocolate cake with peanut brittle?
With clotted cream and homemade jams such as strawberry and Champagne and orange and whisky served with tea leaves delivered straight from the Dilmah family’s private reserve, this is the easily the finest afternoon tea in town.
Award-winning wines, liqueurs and cocktails also take centre stage in the new Palm Court. Take the Caramel Popcorn Martini for example: An indulgent, sweet cocktail combining vanilla vodka, butterscotch schnapps, cream and homemade liquid popcorn served in a chilled martini glass with a honey and crackle crystal rim.
This lavish new lobby bar is the perfect place to meet for a lingering drink and a light meal whether it’s an elegant cup of tea or coffee to accompany breakfast or a sumptuous cocktail before or after dinner.
Breakfast is served from 7-10am, Monday to Friday and 8-10am, Saturday and Sunday.
But you’re welcome to stay as long as you wish.
