Minister of Labour Kate Wilkinson’s resignation regretted
The resignation of Hon Kate Wilkinson as Minister of Labour is regrettable but typical of the high standard she has set herself, says David Lowe, Employment Services Manager for the EMA (Employers & Manufacturers Association).
“The Minister has always acted with honour and integrity, and her decision today reinforces that view,” he says.
“A different Minister might have ducked responsibility on Pike River, with officials never advising of concerns.
“We look forward to working with the new Minister of Labour as the employment changes Hon Kate Wilkinson announced last week are ushered through Parliament.”
