Best Of Nation Awarded To Saint Clair Family Estate
For the second year in a row, Saint Clair Family Estate is proud to be awarded the coveted Best of Nation Trophy NZ 2012
at the San Francisco International Wine Competition USA.
The 32nd year of the San Francisco International Wine Competition judged a record number of wines, with over 4,556 wines
coming from 1,300 wineries across 29 different countries. There was large international scope of quality entries,
leading to a total of 17 countries receiving Best of Nation awards.
Contributing to the Best of Nation award were two Double Gold awards for the family owned Marlborough winery:
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 1 Foundation Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 18 Snap Block Sauvignon Blanc 2011
The show awarded 13 Double Golds to the Sauvignon Blanc varietal, with eight of these coming from Marlborough.
“It is a thrill to see Saint Clair on the top for two consecutive years at America’s largest and most prestigious
competition,” says Saint Clair managing director Neal Ibbotson. “This is a tribute to the team effort and a reflection
of an ongoing commitment to quality and open- minded viticulture.”
