Port equipment failure disrupts services
The failure of a cable on the linkspan which connects Wellington port to Interislander’s rail ships has disrupted services, Interislander general manager Thomas Davis said.
He said the 1405 sailing of Aratere this afternoon was delayed till 1617, and tomorrow the 0605 sailing from Wellington and the 1005 return from Picton would be cancelled to enable some repair work to be done. Passengers on those sailings have been rebooked on later sailings. Mr Davis apologised to customers for the disruption, but said the circumstances were out of the control of Interislander.
“Centreport is working hard to resolve the problem as quickly as possible to enable us to load and unload our ships.”
