Energy Efficiency Training Courses Now Available

Energy Efficiency Training Courses Now Available For Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Heating Specialists
The IRHACE Industry Training Charitable Trust (IITCT) and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) have co-funded the development of four online web based training courses to provide high quality industry training to improve electricity management and efficiency in the Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Heating Services Industry.
The courses are aimed at:
• Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service Companies
• Industrial Refrigeration Service Companies
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Services Companies
• Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Design Engineers
The courses focus on equipment, systems components and new technologies relevant to the particular industry sector. Topics include Air Conditioning & Air handling systems, Refrigeration, Water handling systems. Automatic controls systems and buildings and costings and aims to give participants ideas and tools to:
• Help identify opportunities for saving energy
• Explain in practical and numerical terms the reason why the matter is important.
• Show some of the design methods and procedures that lie behind a good system.
• Assist in deciding what should be done to improve the system.
It is hoped that this knowledge will allow staff to more-confidently raise issues with other staff and clients.

An IITCT and EECA Certificate of Attainment in Energy Efficiency is issued to attendees who complete the course and pass the assessment. Building owners are encouraged to look for service companies with staff holding this level of certification as supported by EECA, Climate Control Companies Association and The Institute of Refrigeration, Heating & Air Conditioning Engineers of NZ (IRHACE) To find out more visit www.nzhvacr.org.nz
