Natural health business to announce export deal - wins leading US supplements contract
Havelock North company Nutrisearch is in the process of securing an export deal for a home-grown health supplement made entirely from New Zealand bio-active material.
While a detailed announcement is being promised in the next few months, the company’s director Adam Ryan said the deal will help to develop New Zealand’s reputation as a high quality producer of natural health supplements.
Nutrisearch have also recently won the New Zealand rights to distribute the entire product range for Douglas Laboratories - one of the world’s leading producers of nutritional supplements and support protocols.
Douglas Laboratories, a family operated business based in Pittsburgh, was one of the world’s first established nutritional supplement producers with more than 600 listed products, researched by PHDs, and covering all aspects of health from cardiovascular and neurological complaints to bone and immune health.
Adam Ryan said, despite being a small company, Nutrisearch will have exclusive rights to distribute the, practioner-only, Douglas products.
“Yes we are a small company but our track record has proven we can deliver the best one-on-one service from a base of very experienced naturopathic professionals. We have built a reputation offering excellent PHD developed protocols to support NZ health care professionals.”
Mr Ryan said the increased nationwide demand for quality natural supplements, backed up by scientific research, has meant the business has had to adapt to keep up with the pace, “ to fulfill New Zealanders’ specific health requirements”.
“Our customer base has previously been focused on treatments surrounding fatigue, stress, weight management and adrenal support, however that has now shifted to include anti-aging options, joint health, arthritis, award winning multi-vitamins, mineral formulas and educational lifestyle protocols.
Mr Ryan reported there had been considerable demand from consumers for products with higher standards of compliance and recognised quality control.
“All the Douglas products are GMP, ISO 9001 and ISO 1725 certified and to the best of my knowledge Douglas are one of the only companies manufacturing dietary supplements to have their laboratories certified in this way.
The ability to attract top international speakers has also given Nutrisearch a competitive edge.
“Attracting high calibre speakers like Dr James Wilson, who was voted US Speaker of the Year 2009, to our seminars throughout New Zealand was a definite advantage for the Douglas team when it came to Nutrisearch winning the distribution rights.”
Mr Ryan said Nutrisearch had expanded its Havelock North staff base to cope with the anticipated demand for the Douglas products which he said were seen as one of the most respected in the industry.
