Slade Robertson will join the business as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Andrew Mortimer as a Senior Research Analyst.
With 16 years experience in the funds management industry, Mr Robertson comes to Brook from BT Funds Management (New Zealand) where he has spent more than four years, most recently as Head of Equities.
Prior to this role, Mr Robertson also spent time with Challenger International, BNP Paribas Equities and Southpac Investment Management.
Brook Managing Director, Mark Brighouse, said that Mr Robertson is well known within the New Zealand’s funds management industry for his extensive knowledge and investment expertise.
"Slade is an equity manager who we have long admired for his investment decision making abilities, long term performance results and the close working partnerships he develops with clients," Mr Brighouse said.
“His experience in managing absolute return and concentrated equity strategies will enable him to contribute to the continued success of Brook’s funds.”
Mr Robertson is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University.
Mr Mortimer has more than 10 years research experience and will join Brook from First NZ Capital, where he was a Director of Equity Research, primarily focusing on the building materials, transport, beverages and agriculture sectors.

With a strong team of research analysts already in place, Mr Brighouse said that Mr Mortimer’s appointment will bring additional expertise that will contribute towards Brook’s primary aim of generating returns for its clients.
“Fundamental research is at the very core of our business, so we’re delighted to be welcoming Andrew to the team,” Mr Brighouse said
"The depth and breadth of his research experience across a range of sectors will be a valuable asset to our business."
Mr Mortimer has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Otago, and is a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants.
Brook currently has more than $1 billion in assets under management and its investment team has continued to outperform in a very challenging market environment.
