CityLink Fibre Network Makes a Big Difference to Petone Businesses
CityLink substantial fibre network that links Wellington’s CBD to Petone, is being praised as a money saver by local businesses.
CityLink CEO Neil de Wit, says it was always part of the company’s long term strategy to expand out of the Wellington CBD and link up the greater Wellington region.
“CityLink was always confident that we would be able to provide faster better and cheaper broadband options to Petone.
“The investment was a significant one for CityLink and it’s fantastic to get feedback from customers who think our service has cut costs and improved their business.
CityLink has been Wellington’s leading fibre infrastructure provider and our investment into Petone will make us number one provider of services to Petone as well.”
ACSDATA is one of CityLinks founding Petone customers and their CEO Daniel Giddens only says good things about CityLink.
“It was CityLink’s low rates that led ACSDATA to use their services in the first place.
“Their prices can be a tenth of the cost for a fibre service and that’s what makes them so popular, along with the quality service they provide,” says Daniel.
CityLink proved this to ACSDATA when they re-located their offices to Petone.
“The time it took Citylink to roll fibre out from Wellington to us in Petone was quicker than another vendor took to get from the road side and into a building in Auckland. Once CityLink got their fibre out to us (around 10k's), they crossed the 4 lane road in a single day and had the fibre terminated and connected to the Citylink network by the end of the next. You can’t ask for better than that,” says Daniel.
Neil says that CityLink will progressively build a small Petone campus network connecting the various business building locations. The investment will see a 312 fibre cable installed to connect CityLink’s CBD customers to their business partners in Petone and vice-versa.
“We know we can provide a better service to Petone businesses and Daniels endorsement proves that,” Neil concludes.
