Pacific Magazines Announces Editor For New Title ‘New Zealand Women’s Health’
July 10, 2008: Pacific Magazines today announced the appointment of Margot Irwin as editor of its new title, New Zealand Women’s Health magazine.
Currently a journalist with Eyeworks (Touchdown TV), Irwin will be the third Women’s Health editor to be appointed outside the US, where the global brand originated. She brings to the role a great depth of experience, having worked in television, magazines and public relations – both in New Zealand and the UK. She also brings a keen interest in health and fitness.
Sue Wheeler, executive editor of the Australian and New Zealand editions of Women’s Health says: “We are delighted to have Margot on board. Her understanding of today’s New Zealand woman is a key asset for the upcoming launch of New Zealand Women’s Health. This, combined with her experience and passion make her a perfect fit for this role.” Irwin will be appointing the rest of her team shortly.
Colette Gallagher, business communications director for Pacific Magazines says: “New Zealand Women’s Health will undoubtedly shake up our magazine landscape as the only lifestyle title for Kiwi women who approach being healthy as a way of life. Margot is a woman who actively lives and whole-heartedly understands this approach to life and who has the experience to make New Zealand Women’s Health a great success."
Pacific Magazines will launch New Zealand Women’s Health in September, just eleven months after the highly successful launch of the Australian edition. Set to be New Zealand’s most exciting launch in a long time, it will speak to New Zealand’s active 25-44 year-old women in a way that’s smart, positive, provocative and humorous. Women’s Health has reinvented the women’s lifestyle category, creating an innovative magazine for the woman who sees being healthy – physically and emotionally – as a way of life.
Irwin says: “I’m thrilled to be joining New Zealand Women’s Health. It’s an incredibly fresh and exciting magazine and as editor I’m passionate about celebrating Kiwi women and giving them ideas and inspiration to be the best they can be”
