ANZA welcomes new President
Auckland, 2 April 2008 – The Association of New Zealand Advertisers (ANZA) has elected a new President, Sonya Crosby, National Manager of the New Zealand Post Mail Marketing Service.
ANZA provides a collective voice in dealing with government, media, advertising agencies and other organisations integral to the advertising industry. Members represent the top 100 advertisers within New Zealand and the majority of national brand advertising.
Ms Crosby has been a member of the ANZA Council since 2006 and was unanimously elected by ANZA members. She steps into the shoes of departing President Alison Sykora (Vodafone), and will continue to help guide the strategic development of the association and support Executive Director Jeremy Irwin.
She says, “I’m delighted to be working with Jeremy and the ANZA Council to continue the outstanding work that Alison Sykora and her predecessors have started ANZA is a hugely respected group both nationally and internationally through the World Federation of Advertisers, and it’s a unique privilege to be working in the company of New Zealand’s top advertisers.”
Ms Crosby adds, “The advertising industry in New Zealand faces increasing demands, from pressure to perform and be more measurable and effective in delivering bottom-line results, through to understanding the constantly changing environment around us.
“One of the key trends is in social responsibility and ANZA has played a major role in providing members with strong leadership and experience in dealing with issues that seek to protect our environment, people and sustainable business practices. What we do has to be for the benefit of New Zealand – and this is a core part of ANZA’s mission statement.”
