Thomson Brookers Launches new Legal News Services
Wellington, New Zealand, 12 March 2008
Legal information provider Thomson Brookers has launched a new legal current awareness service which allows subscribers to manage the way they receive and view legal developments.
The new service is called Alert24. It covers 21 separate areas of law and is delivered by email and RSS feed and is also accessible online. Subscribers are able to choose the frequency of delivery, from daily through to monthly.
Thomson Brookers General Manager, Publishing, Nigel Royfee said that Alert24 was an exciting demonstration of the way in which the internet was changing the use of legal information.
“Alert24 allows users to set up their own customised profiles and edit these as necessary,” he said.
“All items are held in a continuously updated archive that subscribers can access at any time. Users can select the amount of information they receive – headlines only, short or long summaries or the whole item – and choose an HTML or text email format. Other features include a special breaking news option and a broad range of content.”
Mr Royfee said the service was designed for lawyers and other professional advisers, and businesses which needed to keep up with developments in the law. The 21 different topics include subjects such as case law, commercial, criminal and employment law, financial planning and taxation.
Mr Royfee said Alert24 was developed to meet lawyers’ needs for a way to screen and manage the large amount of information they must absorb to stay up-to-date.
