Local job growth leads to Hays office in Auckland’s North Shore
Specialist recruitment consultancy Hays has opened an office in Auckland’s North Shore following an increase in the number of jobs available in the accountancy and finance, office support, contact centres and construction and property sectors.
Jason Walker, Regional Director of Hays overseeing the opening, said the new office will service staffing requirements locally. He said: “Business in the North Shore and Hibiscus Coast regions is booming and blue chip companies are not only opening branches here, but are relocating their head offices to the area. In positive news for local residents, local employers can now compete with CBD operations by offering quality career development opportunities that were not previously available.
“Yet a challenge comes in the form of skills shortages. With job opportunities strong, there is a shortage of engineering, construction, property, support and finance candidates to fill the vacancies available,” said Jason.
“Unemployment levels north of the Auckland Bridge have dramatically reduced, and it is increasingly difficult for local businesses to find the talent they require to cope with the increased flow of business.
“By opening an office locally, Hays can provide a more localised service while being able to deliver talent through our national and international networks. We wanted to offer the best possible recruitment service to clients and candidates in the area – and we believe we can provide that best by being close to our customers,” said Jason.
The Auckland North Shore office will complement the existing Hays operations in New Zealand. “This is an exciting expansion for us. Hays’ business in New Zealand now operates from a strategic base of five offices, of which Hays in Auckland’s North Shore will be a valued part,” said Jason.
Jason cites the cohesiveness of the team and the credibility of Hays’ consultants as the greatest strengths of the new office. “Our established relationships, local knowledge and a reputable network with the resources of a large plc behind us set Hays apart from competitors in the region.
The new Hays office will be managed by Wayne Fry and opens with an initial team of four staff, who together have over 30 years experience recruiting within the local area. Over the next 12 months, the office plans to expand to 12 specialist recruitment consultants servicing the local market. Hays is a specialist recruiter and the office will initially specialise in accountancy & finance, construction & property, contact centres and office support recruitment.
Hays in Auckland’s North Shore is located at Unit 4C, 63 Apollo Drive, Mairangi Bay, North Shore and can by reached by telephone on (09) 917 8824 or email
