Water Turns to $10,000 Cash for Riccarton Man
Christchurch Glazier, Simon Bruce, has come forward as the first h2go mystery drinker and claimed his $10,000 prize.
The search for the $10,000 mystery h2go drinker began on Sunday evening following a lotto style draw on TV2 where Simon’s photo was selected at random. With only 48 hours to claim the prize, Simon’s photo was shown on tv, in the press and online prompting the public to help identify the mystery drinker.
The 20 year old was watching the draw; “It was weird to see my face pop up on TV. Ever since I’ve had heaps of people texting me letting me know I had to ring the number”, said Simon.
The h2go snapped for cash promotion, which launched last week, saw a number of h2go undercover photographers canvassing the country taking photos of people drinking specially marked bottles of h2go 750ml pure water. These photos have been placed on www.snappedforcash.co.nz and go into the draw to win a weekly prize of $10,000 over nine weeks.
“I was on my lunchbreak and had just sat down to eat my lunch when my photo was taken. It’s unreal to think that from drinking water I’m $10,000 richer – I’m stoked!” said Simon.
Simon plans to spend the money on fixing his car and long-term it will help with plans to move to Australia.

Simon is the first winner of the h2go Snapped for Cash promotion with a further eight draws to take place until the 16th March. The next draw is on TV2 this Sunday, 27th January 2008, at 8.30pm.
All the photos currently on the h2go Snapped for Cash website will be re-entered into the remaining eight draws, while the h2go photographers continue to roam the country and take photos of more h2go drinkers.
h2go was the first New Zealand mineral water to be bottled in a sippertop pack, and is one of the largest on the go lifestyle water brands in New Zealand.
