New Chair for Lyttelton Port of Christchurch
The Board of Lyttelton Port of Christchurch has unanimously elected Rodger Fisher as its new Chairman following its Board meeting today.
Barney Sundstrum, who has held the position of Chairman since October 2002, announced at the Annual General Meeting on 14 November that he would step down from that position but remain on the Board as a Director.
Mr Fisher joined the Board in February 2003 and has Chaired the Board’s Remuneration Committee and been a member of the Audit Committee. He is currently the Chairman of Eurotech Group Ltd and Wel Networks Ltd, and is a Director of Tenon Ltd and The Property Group Ltd. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, the Chartered Institute of Transport, the Institute of Directors and the New Zealand Institute of Management.
Mr Fisher is based in Auckland as a management consultant and professional Director. Prior to this he spent more than ten years as Managing Director of Owens Group Limited.
Mr Fisher said the Board thanked Barney Sundstrum for the significant contribution he has made as the Chair of Lyttelton Port Company over the last five years.
Bill Luff has been appointed to a new role of Deputy Chairman.
