deNada Celebrates First Birthday
It has been one year since deNada sprung onto the Wellington Fashion Scene. Last September deNada launched their retail concept store on Featherston Street, along with their fashion label.
Encompassing women’s clothing, a coffee lounge, a music collection available to listen to and to buy and an art exhibition space, deNada has brought a vibrancy and energy to blossoming Featherston Street.
deNada’s attention to fit and wearability has been much appreciated. In line with the companies values there are some garments in the collection that cater for women with long legs and with big boobs.
“Once people are confident that they can rely on our sizing and tailoring to flatter their bodies they quickly become loyal followers”, says creative director Nada Matthews.A loyal following amongst customers has quickly been established, and presently more than 1400 have chosen to receive fortnightly newsletters showcasing the labels clothing and alerting them to in-store events.
Business Director, Jo Learmonth says from her Stewart Island home office, “Sales are going well, with deNada’s turnover having reached the aggressive high growth targets as described by NZ Trade and Enterprise. Just two months ago deNada became the first and only apparel company to have achieved these targets and to have graduated out of an incubator scheme in New Zealand.”
deNada is about to release their third fashion collection, “Building Blocks and Future Notions”, and are very close to revealing the leather bags that are a collaboration between themselves and Konev Leather, another old Wellington company.
A striking feature of the store, the plaster cast bodies hanging proudly on the wall, are the centre of a birthday promotion. Three willing customers have been chosen to be cast and to become the new deNada bodies. These will be revealed on Saturday 1 September amongst birthday celebrations – including in store specials… and CAKE.
Ends.
