Auckland based Tourism Marketing Solutions is owned and run by Sarah Hillman and Tania Adolphe, and their clients include the likes of Millbrook Resort Queenstown, Lakes Resort Pauanui, TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre, Kourawhero Country Lodge north of Auckland and Tourism Auckland.
"Our job is to come in as contract workers and use our depth of industry experience and knowledge to move these businesses ahead," says Sarah. "What we offer is extensive industry experience in a short burst, which is often just what the business needs."
Tourism Marketing Solutions focuses on three key areas - lead generation through corporate telemarketing ; marketing representation and industry education and writing sales and marketing plans and strategies often implementing those strategies in both the wholesale/inbound and corporate markets on behalf of their clients. Contracts are generally short to medium term, ranging from 6 weeks up to 18 months.
"Often all a business needs is a shot in the arm with some new ideas and direction and that's what we offer. There is definitely a need in the industry for this sort of approach, and it's growing," Tania says. "We also come in and problem solve, particularly when it comes to staff and marketing issues.
"For example we did just that with an inner city Auckland hotel when it rebranded, solely focussing on reinstating its conference team back to the best in town that it once used to be. And it worked."
The flourishing company was set up nearly three years ago and hasn't looked back since with the team expanding from two to five - and further expansion is planned.
