Comment On Brian Pink Appointment To Australian Role
State Services Commissioner Mark Prebble today welcomed the Australian Government's announcement of Brian Pink's appointment as the Australian Statistician.
Mr Pink is presently the New Zealand Government Statistician and Chief Executive of Statistics New Zealand, a position he has held since October 2000.
"This is a great recognition of Brian's leadership abilities and his internationally recognised expertise in this specialist field.
"He has had a long and distinguished career in statistics within the Australia and New Zealand Public Service and has overseen two successful New Zealand Censuses.
"He will take up the new appointment from 5 March 2007. I will now start the recruitment process for a new Government Statistician," Mark Prebble said.
