First Millionaire Of Lotto's New Millenium
After celebrating it's 1000th draw last week, Lotto begins its new millenium with it's first millionaire, after a lucky player in Auckland won Lotto First Division tonight, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay said.
The winning ticket which scooped the $1 million top prize was sold at Willowbank Superette in Howick, Auckland.
Lotto Powerball has continued to rise jackpotting to $8.5 million in next week's draw. Strike was also not won, and is worth $800,000 in next week's draw.
Tonight's other big winner was Auckland's Shama Kasavan who spun and won $150,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Shama is originally from South Africa. She moved to New Zealand in 1999 and is a private english tutor.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Countdown Eastgate in Christchurch. The serial number is 348-53999 387- 20XX.
