Hosting of World Rowing Champs Brings Focus to Karapiro Properties

This month’s announcement that New Zealand has won the bid to host the 2010 Rowing World Championships at Lake Karapiro
has created a whole new level of potential buying interest to properties in the area.
Philip Coles from Harcourts Cambridge has recently listed a property for sale which he believes provides an exciting
venture for buyers whether they are involved in rowing, or simply looking for a high quality picturesque rural retreat.
The 12 hectares on 1002 State Highway 1 just out of Cambridge go right down to the edge of Lake Karapiro where there is
a proposed building site with lake views and the opportunity to develop lake access. Approximately eight of the 12
hectares are in apple orchard (which is currently leased out) providing immediate and steady income. The remainder of
the land is in pasture which Mr Coles said would suit an equine establishment or traditional framing practices.
Mr Coles described the property as also enjoying a “top location handy to the ever-expanding and vibrant town of
Cambridge, with the additional advantage of being within easy reach of Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo and Hamilton”.
Cambridge is a thriving community with a number of residential and upmarket rural/lifestyle developments underway to
meet the needs of its growing population. The area is fast building a reputation for its world classed facilities which
as well as the internationally acclaimed rowing facilities on Lake Karapiro, includes race-horse studs, golf course,
trout fishing and its mountain ecological reserve.
