Compass Group appoints Central North Island regional manager
Food service company Compass Group has appointed Darron Read to the new position of Central North Island Regional Manager to help steer the group's dramatic growth.
The new position covers Taranaki, the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay, an area with a total of 450 employees. Read says that one of the main aims of the role is to enable the company to standardise efficiencies and share best practice through the broader region.
"It strengthens the team in the Central North Island and positions Compass for continued growth."
Read, 40, has spent his career in the hospitality industry, from beginnings at a family-run country pub via national hotel groups to a 15-year career with Compass. Large venue hospitality management - including parliamentary caterers Bellamy's and Wellington Convention Centre - were followed by two years as Compass' Wellington regional operations manager. He spent the last three years as Taranaki regional manager.
