Mother of five calls strike against Poverty Wages

Shift Manager Susan Tuanui, mother of five, of Lincoln Rd KFC has called her workers out on a wildcat strike demanding
$12, saying that the Government’ss announced minimum wage rise to $10.25 is still a poverty wage.
The strike will be running for no longer than 2 hours and Susan will be available for interview
KFC Shift Manager Susan said she supports five children and the pay rise will make little difference to how hard she has
to work to afford to feed her family. She gets paid $9.86 an hour for a managerial role and will get around 50 cents
more with the wage increase after tax is deducted.
