Positive October Results Consistent with Confident Spring Market for Harcourts
For Release: 28 November 2005
October saw Harcourts offices continue to enjoy strong sales activity in line with both the continuing positive market
and the arrival of spring, according to Harcourts New Zealand CEO, Bryan Thomson.
Commenting in the latest issue of Harcourts MarketWatch newsletter, Mr Thomson made particular reference to both an
increase in the number of properties being listed, as well as the number of sales contracts being written for property
over October. He added that this reflected two important issues.
“Number one is that the market is positive. And given all the factors that make this country so positive, it is no
surprise that thinking Kiwis are investing in property both for homes and investments.”
“Secondly, the figures reflect the growth in the performance of the Harcourts team over the last twelve months. The
commitment to success, professional development, skill enhancement and drive to achieve the very best result for all
clients sees more and more buyers and sellers selecting Harcourts.”
Mr Thomson said it was evident that both buyers and sellers were active in the market, adding “as we move into summer,
our advice for sellers is to recognise the increasing competition when it comes to attracting premium buyers to your
property, and to ensure you promote and present your property well.”
He noted that while buyers were enjoying more choice with the additional listings, they would continue to experience
competition for the premium properties and had to ensure they were well prepared in areas such as confirming prior
financial arrangements in order to help secure their “dream property”.
