Sky Tower Features Madagascar Fun For July School Holidays
Every child visiting Sky Tower over the school holidays (July 9 - 24 2005, 10 am - 4pm daily) will receive a free Madagascar "goodie" bag, including a ticket to see the movie, thanks to a joint effort by Sky Tower and Village SKYCITY Cinemas.
To get the goodie bag, which also includes a Madagascar wall poster and a bag of M & Ms, kids and their parents take a thrilling ride up the new, glass-floor-panel lifts to the highest public observation viewing deck in the Southern Hemisphere.
There at the top they will find the Madagascar Island themed Sky Lounge, with free live entertainment daily. While parents or caregivers enjoy a coffee and well deserved break, children will be entertained with free face painting and balloonists dressed up like the Madagascar movie animal characters.
The School Holiday programme also offers a special "Schools Art Competition" these July holidays. The art competition is open to all Auckland primary and intermediate school students. Children are asked to draw their favourite Madagascar characters and include Sky Tower in their picture. Five entries will be selected (randomly drawn) from the posters received to win a private screening of Madagascar at Village SKYCITY Cinemas Newmarket for their whole class on 29 July! A selection of the art will also be displayed at Sky Tower during the July holiday period and changed regularly.
Madagascar, the family adventure movie, is from the creators of recent blockbuster family titles "Shrek" and "A Shark's Tale". The story is based at New York's Central Park Zoo where a lion, zebra, giraffe and a hippo are best friends. When one of them goes missing from his cage, the other three break free to look for him, only to find themselves reunited on a ship bound for Madagascar.
Normal Sky Tower admission prices apply - adults cost $18.00 and children $8.00. Family passes to Sky Tower for two adults and two children cost $44.00. Terms and conditions for the holiday programme apply. Please visit www.skycityauckland.co.nz for further details.
