New Yellow Pages® General Manager Poised to Further Enhance Performance
Yellow Pages® today announced the appointment of Dudley Enoka as its new General Manager. He will head an organisation of over 500 people, the majority of whom are focused on servicing customers.
Dudley brings significant commercial and leadership experience to the Yellow Pages. Most recently General Manager - Regions with Telecom, Dudley has a 20-year career in sales leadership. He started as a cadet with Telecom in 1969. After 10 years in the Customer Service field he joined the Corporate Marketing Group to work on the transition from Government Department to State Owned Enterprise and then publicly listed company.
Dudley helped establish Sales in Telecom in 1987 and worked in a number of sales and leadership roles before becoming General Manager - Regions. His expertise includes business and sales management, and organisational leadership.
“Yellow Pages is one of the largest and most widely consulted advertising media in New Zealand,” says Dudley. “White Pages® and Yellow Pages are in every home and business in New Zealand and have been part of New Zealand life for over 120 years.”
“Given this, and the iconic status the directories have in our everyday lives, it’s a tremendous responsibility to be leading Yellow Pages, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with and grow such a great business and great brands.”
“The company is built on meeting the needs of millions of New Zealanders and I’m keen to see that all aspects of our business reflects this everyday reality,” says Dudley. “I know we can grow by providing even better ways to help both advertisers and the people who use our directories, in print and online.”
“Our business is in some respects, a simple one: we help customers find businesses and businesses find customers. My job is to see that we do that better than any other medium.
“We have a compelling case for advertisers. Typically every week more than one million New Zealanders aged 15 years and older refer to the Yellow Pages. And they’re ready to buy: nearly nine out of ten of them have either purchased or intend to purchase in the next six months. They are good customers too, spending on average 9 percent more than other shoppers in common categories.*
“These are enviable figures,” says Dudley. “What other medium can offer that kind of readership and those rates of conversion?”
Dudley replaces Roger Shipp, who held the position of GM Yellow Pages for 7 years. Roger has returned to Australia for personal reasons and taken up a senior position with AAPT, also part of the Telecom family of companies.
